Stanley Ho East Asia College (何鴻燊東亞書院), commonly known to college members as SHEAC or EAC, was founded in 2010 at East Asia Hall on the Taipa campus of the University of Macau (UM). It was one of the two pilot Residential Colleges at UM. Formerly known as East Asia College, it had expanded from two floors to six floors at East Asia Hall in the first three years of operation. Since the summer of 2014, the College has relocated to the Hengqin campus and occupies its own RC building W13. It has been renamed as Stanley Ho East Asia College as a token of gratitude to Dr. Stanley Ho for his generous donation. No matter hardware facilities and structures, or in software aspects, such as student composition, student development programs and learning activities, SHEAC continues to make keen efforts to strive for offering an excellent learning and living collegiate community for UM students.
Members of SHEAC have developed a strong sense of belonging and cherish every moment they spend with their peers in the College. Over the past few years, the student clubs and activities have been growing in terms of dimension and maturity. More facilities, such as study rooms, a gym room, a library, a music room and a band room, are available in the College on the Hengqin campus. We have also gradually invested in more musical instruments, library books and other equipment.
The successful running of more than 100 programs, events and activities each semester would not be possible without our devoted student leaders, committed volunteer helpers and keen participants. Aiming to cater for our college students’ diverse needs and interests, as well as to facilitate their personal and professional growth in a holistic manner, these programs and activities cover many different aspects, including but not limited to intellectual, social, moral, artistic and athletic activities.
